Hi there. Dropping in again. So how's everyone been doing?
So, tomorrow will be the first NCC training for the Sec ones, if I'm not wrong. As I've said before, try your best to welcome them, and whenever you have the opportunity to teach them something, even if you may be a Part B, do take it.
Also, about the blog migration to WordPress, I'll try to get it done as soon as possible, but it won't be anytime soon. Please bear with me!
That's about all, see you guys tomorrow!

Bukit Timah Tree-top walk '

HELLO BPNCC ;D Im back. Firstly for the Sec 4 Express, Common test is over. I know its been a hard and hectic fist 2 weeks, I was there too. And the good news is that its going to get harder and even more hectic in the coming weeks, with timed practice, homework and extra lessons. We'll get through this like the men we are, cause we are from NCC, to be more specific, Bukit Panjang Govt High NCC. YEAH.

Okay enough about that. Now, about next week's programme. Since the Sec1s are officially joining us next week, we'll have our traditional Tree-top walk at Bukit Timah. So I need the current family members of BPNCC to treat our 'New born babies' well and make them feel welcomed. Encourage each other to go on. Nothing beats the power of the mind. Wahaha. Details about next week's training will be out on the blog and notice board latest by Wednesday, please do check it out. As for the time being, enjoy your weekend as another week of obstacles await!!

Okay, so just dropping by to post something to keep this place from collecting dust. Today marks the end of the Sec 4s common test. Clearly, it doesn't really mean anything but more studying, but we're still entitled to a little celebration, even it's only for a day.
Besides that, the I've heard that the secondary ones have enrolled. Part As and Bs, if it's anything at all, do do your best to welcome them and make them feel at home here in NCC.
Anyways, I'm off to have my fair share of celebration. See you guys around.

CCA Roadshow '

Hey guys! This is my first post ever here and I think that yesterday’s events warrants a congratulatory post.

First of all, I’d like to congratulate the part Ds (Khai, the exco, and everyone else) for putting up a great effort to pull off the displays even though planning was somewhat last minute and obtaining 35 potential part As. I see that you guys have learnt at least something from the last Camp Fearless.

For the part Cs who are taking over soon, always remember that in NCC, the 3 basic steps to carry out an event is i) planning, ii) execution and iii) achievement of objectives. Yesterday was a positive demonstration of the three steps and I hope to see you guys can successfully implement this process flow in the near future as well.

I’d also like to acknowledge the efforts of the Elite Team (Wen Jie, Asyur, Faruq, Le Tian, Hao Fei, Saklani and Wei Loon [hope I spelt all the names correctly]). Especially Wen Jie who was instrumental in leading the Elite Team to accomplish the two operations successfully. Pass on the special tactical knowledge you guys have to your juniors and maybe next year we can have more complex operations that will wow our audience even further.

Not forgetting the part Cs doing drills on the parade square as well as the 15-man Freestyle Drills Team led by Diko. It was a solid performance though more improvements can be made, particularly in the area of coordination and sharpness of the movements. For those in the FSD team, work hard and aim to clinch at least a bronze medal for the West district competition on 27 February. A bit more commitment and discipline should do the trick.

Last but definitely not least, I think the cadet officers deserve mention as well. Jason and Yus for helping out in the forming of the first ever Elite Team and Samuel and Keith for the audio-visual preparations. Also a special mention to the ex-COC, Hifzul Matin (Alumni of the month!) who gave us support even though he has no obligations to do so.

I guess all of us had a great time during the CCA road show, no? Especially for those who stayed on for the campfire. For those of you who missed out on the fun and crazy stuff, hopefully the pictures and videos will be up on the blog soon. Then you can see the wild side of BPNCC!

Today is testament to what NCC is really about. It’s not just about drills, pumpings, PTs etc. There’s much more to it. We have the tough times and we have the fun times; the brotherhood, the team spirit, and the bonds we have with each other. We take some and we give some. Whatever difficulties and challenges we go through, we go through together and we emerge stronger together.

I believe the year 2010 will see our unit achieve greater heights. If not in the tangible achievements (awards, competitions, etc), then in the intangible ones (the unit’s camaraderie, strength and spirit). Also, don’t forget your studies (do homework and revise frequently!) and I wish everyone the best for the rest of the year.

Fearless we go, honour we show!

CCA Roadshow was a success!! '

Hey BPNCC! I know i havent been posting for quite a while, but here I am, your Cadet Officer Commanding! Woots. About yesterday's CCA roadshow, I am proud to say that a total of 35 Sec 1s signed up at our booth! Great, isnt it? I hope we can get all 35 to join our family. So Part Bs, you guys are now seniors to the up and coming Part As, so... you guys must show them standard and discipline! Make them look up to you guys! But that doesnt mean that you guys FORCE them to respect you. It must be EARNED. Same goes to the Part Cs, you guys have a heavier responsibility this time, with one more part depending on you guys to lead the way. Dont let me down, okay :D

I would like to thank Master Chief and the other Cadet Officers/Lieutenants for being there during our planning and also during the roadshow. Thanks to the F.I.B.U.A team, also known as the elite team led by Master Chief, who willingly painted their face and shout in the noisy surronding. Thanks to the Freestlye Drill Team. Thanks t the 16 Part Cs, who tirelessly marched around the parade square, and the Part As, who went around promoting NCC. All played and important part and I am proud you guys ;D Pictures of CCA Roadshow willbe posted soon, so look foward to it!! Keluar Baris!

WELCOME TO THE NEW YEAR. '

Okay, so school's started, needless to say.
I hope all of you are having a good first three days of school. If you don't feel thrilled to be back to school, I'm sure its just the holiday hangover and it happens all the time, so don't be so down.
Anyway, the start of school also means the start of CCAs, and the start of CCAs means the start of NCC! How does that feel? ;D I bet all of you are just as excited as I am to be back with NCC(some may speculate that to be none), whether it's the reuniting of you and your CPCs and CPSs or the drills and marches.
As all of you know(I think, or hope perhaps), this Friday is that of the CCA roadshow. You know what this means? It means persuading every single secondary one boy you see to join BPNCC! Part As and Bs, if you want to have enough cadets under you to scold and exact revenge when you guys are the seniors, you'd better try as hard as you can to get as many secondary ones converted. =X okay, ignore that last part.
All that aside, here's the training schedule for tomorrow. I know it's kinda late, but I was busy the whole night yesterday doing the NCC poster, and I promise it won't happen again!

BPNCC Routine Order

1500-1730 Preparation for CCA Road show

1730-1800 AAR, Parade dismissal

1 Down by the river
Down by the river
Took a little walk
Ran into some terrorist
Had a little talk
Push them, yah!
Push them, yah!
Into the river
Let them drown
We don’t need no terrorists
Hanging around
Hey don’t be a fool (hey hey!)
Somebody said we are number 2
But we are number 1… NCC!

2 When the cold wind blows
In the early morning run/march/row/jump
With a beret/full pack/paddle/parachute on my back
And an aching in my heart
And my shirt is full of sweat
I’m a long, long way from home
And I miss my lover so
In the early morning march/run/row/jump
When the cold wind blows x5

3 Green beret
Upon her head
She wears a yellow ribbon
She wears a yellow ribbon in the merry mind of me, yah!
And if you ask her
For whom she wears the ribbon
She wears it for the soldiers who wears a green beret, yah!
Green beret!
Green beret!
She wears it for the soldiers who wears a green beret

Bang, bang left foot!
I wanna hear your left foot!
Dig, dig your left boot!

We like it here, we like it here we found ourselves a home!

10 Training to be soldiers
Training to be soldiers
Fight for our land
Once in our life
Two years of our time

Have you ever wondered
Why must we serve
Because we love our land
And we want it to be free, to be free, yah!

Looking all around us
People everywhere
Children having fun
But we are holding guns

Stand up
Be on your guard
Come on everybody
Do your part
Do it for our nation
Do it for our Singapore, YAH!

Stand up hook up shuffle to the door
Jump right down at the count of four

If my first chute doesn’t open wide

If my second one doesn’t open too
I am going for a jolly good ride

If I land on the Russian front
Bury me with a Russian gun
If I land on the Vietnam war
Send me back to Singapore

If I land on an old folks’ home
Box me up and send me home
Tell my mother I’ve done my best
Silver wings upon my chest
Tell my girl I’ve done my best
Now it’s time for me to rest

I asked my girl
To take a walk
To take a walk
Just a little walk
Went past Mandarin
To Centrepoint
We had our lunch
At McDonalds

We had fillet
And apple pie
We shared a cup
Of lemon lime
Holding her hands
Look into her eyes
I asked her to
Be my valentine

There was one night
There was no light
There was no light
So we used torchlight
Holding her hands
Look into her eyes
I asked my girl
To be my future wife

When I book in
I felt lovesick
I cannot eat
I cannot sleep
Pick up handphone
Called her number
Her mama said
She’s not at home

I want to cry
I want to die
After some time
I changed my mind
I told myself
Oh what the f***
Next time book out
I try my luck

There was this girl
She wears no bra
Her b**bs so big
Can be seen from far
I asked her out
She said ok la
So off we go
To hotel Shangri-La
